After traveling in Asia, Africa, North and South America and having always worked and lived in the Paris region, we were looking for a sunny vacation spot to put our backpacks and fell in love with a small village in the Languedoc-Roussillon. We renovated a house there 10 years ago.
During our travels, our pleasure as a globetrotter was to privilege the contacts and the good moments shared with the inhabitants. Friendliness, welcome, beautiful human encounters, this is what we have been sharing for 10 years in Languedoc Roussillon, an authentic region where to thank you, we say “With Pleasure”.
We enjoy 300 days of sunshine a year, the sea, natural parks, castles, abbeys, beautiful villages, superb landscapes and history everywhere.
We taste good wines there and meet the winegrowers in their estates, we discover Mediterranean cuisine in many small restaurants, we taste local products at the markets in the villages. The multiple walks, on foot, by bike, by car, offer different pleasures every day.
This is why we looked for a place in Languedoc-Roussillon that would allow us to share this region with the rest of the world: we luckily found an old wine estate, in the heart of our village, a stone’s throw from the Canal du midiand close to many tourist sites. Our project was to create a pleasant place to live there, in order to share privileged human experiences and allow our guests to rest, to go sightseeing, to go and get their bread and their newspaper on foot, to take a coffee in the shade of an arbor …
A major renovation, both simple and elegant, has made it possible to create the Domaine de Puychêne, whose name evokes the property’s well and the oak whose foliage has offered the freshness of its shade for more than 300 years. At one time, newlyweds got into the habit of having their picture taken under this oak tree. It has now become a place of relaxation and a starting point for visiting a region so rich that a single summer will not be enough …
