House rentals along the Canal du Midi

CLOSE TO OUR CHARMING GITES

Like every year, the small hamlet of Le Somail, less than three kilometres from the Domaine de Puychene and our Canal du Midi self-catering accommodation, organises a magnificent exhibition. L’art et des mots au bord de l’eau” brings together more than 30 artists on the banks of the Canal du Midi. Every year, this event reminds us that summer is just around the corner: the sun of the South of France is already shining and tourists, both French and foreign, are strolling through the streets of the village, much to their delight.

OUR GUESTS FROM OUR CHARMING HOUSES come to the south of France for the sun, the beaches of the Languedoc, the landscapes, the villages and the Cathar castles, but they also find art and conviviality. Because in Occitanie, we share, we exchange, we discuss, in French, in English, with gestures, looks, a glass of wine – in short, we communicate!

For this exhibition, painters, sculptors, photographers, etc. are being invited to showcase their creations in a wide range of venues: houses, gîtes, barns, bars and restaurants are being opened up as temporary galleries. This is also what we loved about creating our house rentals on the banks of the Canal du Midi in the Languedoc region between Corbières and Minervois, a region with an incredible range of cultural activities throughout the year, in towns, villages, beaches…

OUR CHARMING HOLIDAY HOMES NOT FARFROM NARBONNE,CARCASSONNE AND THE MEDITERRANEAN

Occitanie offers so many possibilities that a two-week holiday just isn’t enough. You come to sunbathe and you’re surprised to discover the sculptures on the Mayronnes footpath, the magnificent Fontfroide abbey, the lapidary museum or Narbonne cathedral, the incredible bookshop at Le Somail, the book village at Montolieu, the literary meetings at Lagrasse and so much more. We like to share all this with our guests: the culture, but also the restaurants, the craftsmen and the wine producers.
